Monologue:As a mug, I offer direct evidence of my maker’s energy, skill, and virtue. A communion is likely, which is consummated by the act of drinking.
I am a sculpture, crafted with intention. I am intended to have a presence of dramatic stillness which speaks of the earth. I present myself to be held, and kissed. When empty, I suggest and anticipate the ritual act of drinking. My essence is the mystery of inside/outside.
In this way I can mediate an intimate connection, and create a special status for an otherwise mundane action.
