Collection: Residual Beauty

Residual Beauty brings together the works of Darren Emenau and Rilla Marshall in a dialogue of colour, surface, and the shifting identity of the Maritime landscape.

From the eroding shorelines of Prince Edward Island to the rugged, stone-hewn textures of New Brunswick, both artists explore what remains after the forces of nature and time have done their work. Marshall’s complex weavings use painted warps and intentional negative space to map a "vanishing" coastline, while Emenau’s monolithic ceramics stand as high-chroma artifacts of the earth’s enduring core.
