The Colour Monologues: Coral

Monologue:

I am Coral.

I am presence.

I open easily.
Maybe a little too easily.

I like the feeling
of reaching out,
of being felt.

My warmth in me
doesn’t stay contained.

It moves outward,
soft and steady,
looking for somewhere to land.

What happens if it’s not received?

That’s my fear.

Being too much.
Or worse…
not enough to be noticed at all.

I feel it when something doesn’t meet me.
I always do.

And I'm always true to my nature.
Trust what I feel.

I stay open.
I stay warm.

Even when it would be easier
to hind.

I would rather risk being felt
than disappear quietly.
