White Stoneware - Matte Glazes - PE Clay - Thrown & Altered on the Wheel, Dipped, Sprayed & Brushed - Fired C6 Electric
Monologue: Last year, I removed peonies that had stood for over fifty years, a soft boundary lost after the unexpected. I wasn’t sure they’d return, and this piece sits in that uncertainty.
The form softens from my usual approach, leaning into a quieter, more fluid femininity. Its folds move like petals, less about structure, more about presence and adaptation. Wild PEI clay flashes subtle purples in the firing, settling like erosion, something shaped slowly over time. Not damage, but evidence. Like the peonies, this mug holds both loss and persistence, the belief that what is rooted can find its way back.
